...To Keep Our Teens Safe!
Post Prom provides all MHS Junior and Senior students and their prom dates a free, all-night, fun, safe, alcohol-free and drug-free celebration after the prom. Methacton Post Prom provides a great alternative to potentially dangerous situations on one of the riskiest nights in the life of a teen.
The Dangers of Prom Night
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), one in three children under age 21, who died in alcohol-related accidents, died during prom and graduation season. For the past several years during prom weekend, approximately 300 teens have died in alcohol-related car accidents. Prom night is a risky night in the life of a teen…drinking and driving and other risky behaviors can occur.
- Teen traffic deaths during prom season are higher than any other time of the year.
- 1 in 3
